Why we built this

Parliamentary proceedings in Bermuda are public record, but they aren't always easy to access. Hansard transcripts are published as PDFs. Committee memberships are buried across multiple web pages. There's no simple way to see how active your MP has been, what they've said, or how to contact them.

WriteThem brings all of this together in one place. Every speech, every sitting, every vote and contract — searchable, browsable, and linked back to the people who represent you. The goal is simple: make it easier for Bermudians to hold their government accountable and participate in democracy.

Data source

All parliamentary data is sourced from the official Bermuda Parliament website and is updated automatically on a daily schedule. Hansard PDFs are parsed to extract individual speeches, topics, and attendance records.

Open source

WriteThem is built with Django and designed to be open, transparent, and reusable. The scraper and platform code can be adapted for any Westminster-style parliament. If your country publishes Hansard, this tool can work for you too.
