has over 15 years of experience in the Reinsurance and Insurance sector in Bermuda, primarily in risk management and underwriting analytics. During his career he has innovated many new approaches to using technology to manage risk. Dr. De Couto earned his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he created some of the first wireless mesh networking technology. He also holds a certificate in Financial Engineering from the MIT Sloan School of Business.Dr. De Couto has served on the board of the National Museum of Bermuda since 2006, and as the Chairman from 2021 to 2024.
