Biography

Neville Tyrrell was educated at the Central School (now Victor Scott), the Bermuda Technical Institute and the Cranfield School of Management in the UK. He started his working career at Cable & Wireless Ltd, (C&W) as a Trainee Telegraph and Coast Station Operator. After completing the C&W’s Management Trainee Programme, he held several Middle Management positions. In 1996 he left Cable & Wireless as the Senior Manager of Human Resources & Administration. From 1998 – 2015 Mr. Tyrrell was employed with Colonial Pension Services Ltd. (a division of Colonial Group International) as a Senior Pension Consultant. Mr. Tyrrell has served on various committee boards such as the Race Relations Council, the Sports Development Council and the Education Planning Team. He is a member and Past Master of Lodge Somers Isles and Past Director of Ceremonies. He presently serves as the Lodge Secretary. In addition to his fraternal service, he is on the Government Employee Health Insurance Management Committee and the Hotel Pension Plan Board. Mr. Tyrrell started his parliamentary career in March 2004 when he was appointed to the Senate as a Government Senator; he served in the Senate until October 2007. On December 19, 2016 he was elected to represent Constituency 26 - Warwick South Central in the House of Assembly. Mr. Tyrrell is married to Sheila, with 3 children: Teena, Craig and Nekisha. Some of his hobbies include traveling, reading and playing golf.
