What this bill does
This bill requires the government to give Parliament a chance to review and potentially reject emergency rules before they take effect. Currently, when the government creates emergency regulations during a crisis, Parliament has limited oversight of these powerful decisions.
If Passed (Voted Yes)
Parliament will have the right to review and vote down any emergency regulations, orders, or rules made by the Governor or other authorities during emergencies
Emergency powers will still exist but with stronger democratic oversight - Parliament can stop emergency rules they disagree with
The government will need to follow formal procedures when making emergency regulations, making the process more transparent
If Rejected (Voted No)
Emergency regulations will continue to be made with limited Parliamentary oversight
The current system remains where emergency powers can be exercised with less democratic scrutiny
Parliament will have fewer opportunities to check government decisions during emergencies
